FAYEMI, OKIRO, MUSTAPHA AND OGUNSEYE TO LEAD PANEL DISCOURSE AT TREK AFRICA NATIONAL DISCOURSE 2019
by Yomi Oyelami
First Lady, Ekiti State, Erelu Bisi Fayemi
It will be a no-holds barred, explosive session at the panel discussion slated billed to hold at the sixth edition of the annual National Discourse and Awards organized by Trek Africa Newspaper.
The conference is fittingly themed ‘ENTRENCHING UNITY IN DIVERSITY, PANACEA FOR SECURITY AND PROSPERITY IN NIGERIA’ is set at a critical period when Nigeria is in dire straits, going by the ugly trend of ethnic bias, religious intolerance, kidnapping, insurgency and ritual killing witnessed across the length and breadth of the country,
This has negatively impacted the prosperity of the nation. Due to fears that the country may implode, she loses huge foreign direct investment to other African nations. Still, the Giant of Africa is home to one of the largest number of internally-displaced persons in the world. The United Nations High Commission for Refugees Global Trends report (2018) puts the IDP population at 2.2 million. These are citizens virtually left in penury with little or no hopes of climbing out!

These issues will be on the front burner at the special panel session in the conference. The panel will comprise eggheads in various sectors such as wife of Ekiti state Governor Erelu Bisi Fayemi, former Inspector General of Police Mike Okiro, Managing Director, Kontz Engineering Services Limited, Engr. Akin Lusty Mustapha, veteran journalist Reuben Abati, head of language services BBC West Africa, Toyosi Ogunseye, Former Governorship Candidate, Mrs. Bolanle Sarumi Aliyu amongst others.

Meanwhile, the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu will deliver a special focus theme paper on: ‘ENTRENCHING UNITY IN DIVERSITY, PANACEA FOR SECURITY AND PROSPERITY IN NIGERIA: THE SHINNING LIGHT NAMED LAGOS.’
