2027: Tompolo Donates 25 Vehicles as Oyebanji Mobilises Ekiti Support for Tinubu
By Trek Africa Newspaper

High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, and Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji have called on residents of Ekiti State to participate actively in the 2027 presidential election and support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid.
The appeal was made on Thursday during the inauguration of the Ekiti State chapter of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, a political mobilisation group established to promote support for Tinubu ahead of the next general election.
At the event, Tompolo announced the donation of 25 vehicles to strengthen the group’s grassroots campaign activities across the state. The vehicles were presented on his behalf by Chief Kestin Pondi, Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited.
Speaking through Pondi, Tompolo described Ekiti as an important state in Tinubu’s political journey, urging residents to demonstrate their support for the President through their participation in the 2027 election.
He linked some of the improvements in government finances to the economic reforms introduced by the Tinubu administration, particularly the removal of the petrol subsidy. According to him, the changes have increased the financial resources available to state governments to meet obligations such as salaries, pensions and infrastructure development.
Tompolo also urged members of the movement to take the re-election campaign directly to communities, explaining that the donated vehicles would support door-to-door engagements and mobilisation across wards, local government areas, constituencies and religious centres.
He charged the group’s leadership to ensure that the vehicles and other campaign resources were effectively deployed to reach eligible voters and communicate the movement’s message.
Oyebanji Targets 80 Per Cent Support for Tinubu in Ekiti
Governor Biodun Oyebanji, who also addressed the gathering, expressed confidence in the political support Tinubu could receive in Ekiti State during the 2027 presidential election.
The governor called on residents to deliver at least 80 per cent of the votes cast in the state for the President, describing the target as a way of appreciating the Federal Government’s support for his administration.
Oyebanji credited Tinubu’s administration with providing assistance that has contributed to the implementation of development programmes in Ekiti. He maintained that several of his government’s achievements would have been difficult to accomplish without support from the Federal Government.
The governor also recalled the APC’s performance in the last election in Ekiti, claiming that the party secured 85.7 per cent of the votes. He attributed the result to public support for his administration and the desire for continuity.
According to Oyebanji, Tinubu has demonstrated considerable commitment to Ekiti since assuming office, adding that the relationship between the state and the Federal Government has supported the implementation of projects and development initiatives.
He further urged residents to avoid voter apathy in 2027, warning that eligible voters who stayed away from previous elections could affect the state’s participation in the next presidential poll.
Oyebanji therefore directed political leaders and members of the movement to identify and encourage residents who possess Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) but did not participate in previous elections to come out and vote.
The governor also thanked Tompolo for providing the 25 vehicles, describing his involvement in the mobilisation exercise as support for Tinubu’s second-term ambition and the country.
Ekiti Assembly Speaker, Movement Coordinator Back Mobilisation Drive
The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Adeoye Stephen Aribasoye, also commended Tompolo for extending the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement’s activities to the state.
Aribasoye expressed confidence in the mobilisation efforts, saying that residents had recognised the Federal Government’s contributions to development programmes being implemented by the Oyebanji administration.
He argued that maintaining the existing working relationship between the state and the Federal Government was important to the continuation of ongoing development initiatives.
Earlier, the National Coordinator of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, Sunday Asuku, called on Ekiti residents to turn out in large numbers during the 2027 presidential election.
Asuku highlighted policies and programmes introduced by the Tinubu administration, while challenging opposition politicians to explain their records in public office and present clear policy proposals to Nigerians.
He also criticised what he described as misleading narratives against the administration, urging members of the movement to respond through public engagement and grassroots campaigns.
The national coordinator encouraged supporters to intensify their mobilisation efforts through household visits, community meetings, public gatherings and other outreach activities.
The inauguration of the Ekiti chapter and the donation of the 25 vehicles form part of the movement’s wider efforts to establish grassroots structures across the country ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
