“We are not Spoilt” – Dangote’s Daughters Reveal why They Avoid Publicity
By Trek Africa Newspaper

Halima Dangote, daughter of Nigerian business mogul Aliko Dangote, has explained why she and her sisters, Fatima and Mariya, maintain a relatively low public profile despite their family’s wealth and prominence.
Halima said the sisters prefer to allow their professional achievements and business results to speak for them rather than publicly displaying their wealth or personal possessions.
Speaking during a Bloomberg Next Africa special, Halima explained that she and her sisters were not particularly interested in being constantly recognised or showcasing their lifestyles on social media.
“We are not spoilt,” she said, explaining that the sisters had grown up to focus on their individual responsibilities and professional achievements.
According to Halima, the three sisters are comfortable maintaining a quiet profile and allowing their work to define them.
She noted that while some people are comfortable with social media, public recognition and openly displaying what they own, she and her sisters are not similarly expressive about their wealth or activities.
Halima said their preference is for their results to speak for themselves, pointing to business performance, growth and other measurable achievements.
She added that the family’s approach was not necessarily about deliberately avoiding recognition, but about maintaining focus on their responsibilities rather than seeking public attention.
The comments have attracted attention online, particularly amid growing public interest in the roles of Aliko Dangote’s daughters within the family’s business empire.
Halima, Fatima and Mariya Dangote occupy senior positions within the Dangote Group, with their involvement in the conglomerate increasingly drawing attention as discussions around its future leadership continue.
The comments also come after Aliko Dangote said he believes any of his three daughters could eventually lead the Dangote Group, stressing that he wants the conglomerate to be professionally managed and governed to the highest standards.
