Okowa: ‘I Knew Atiku and I Would Lose the 2023 Presidential Election’

Former Delta State Governor and 2023 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) vice-presidential candidate Ifeanyi Okowa has said he knew long before the polls that he and presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar would not win the election.
Speaking at a recent event in his home state of Delta, Okowa revealed that his reading of the political landscape was clear enough that he had already shared his prediction with Christian leaders ahead of the vote.
“I knew we would not win the election. And even when I met with the Christian leaders, I told them that APC will win, while PDP will come second and then Labour Party will come third,” he said.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) later declared All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Bola Tinubu the winner. Atiku finished second, while Labour Party’s Peter Obi came third, matching the outcome Okowa said he had anticipated.
