Troops Repel Midnight Terrorist Attacks on Sokoto Military Base, Community

Troops of the 8 Division Garrison have repelled simultaneous attacks by suspected terrorists on a military position and a nearby community in Isa Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
The coordinated assaults occurred at about 12:10 a.m. on September 6, when the attackers targeted the Forward Operating Base (FOB) Tidibaleand Tidibale Village.
According to the military, the troops responded swiftly to the attacks and successfully forced the terrorists to withdraw from the area.
However, one soldier sustained a gunshot wound during the confrontation and was evacuated for medical treatment.
The military also disclosed that two gun trucks were immobilised after sustaining direct gunfire to their fuel tanks, causing the vehicles to catch fire.
Despite the attack, the troops have maintained their positions and continued security operations across the area to prevent further attacks and protect residents.
The incident comes amid ongoing military operations against terrorist and bandit groups operating across parts of north-western Nigeria.
