As technology continues to govern the modern world of commerce, education, governance and social interaction, digital security becomes a defining challenge for the 21st century. A single careless click can expose individuals, businesses and even governments to devastating financial losses, phishing, cyberbullying, misinformation, identity theft and cybercrime.
Addressing these threats in an economy that is digitally driven like Lagos demands sustained public awareness, digital literacy, technological solutions, and collective responsibility. It is against this backdrop that the Lagos State Security Trust Fund’s Campaign Against Crime, Cultism and Other Vices (LSSTF-CACCOV) has unveiled its 2026 July Edition of Cybersecurity Campaign, themed “Staying Safe in a Digital World.” Scheduled to hold virtually on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. (WAT), the campaign will convene cybersecurity experts, technology professionals, policy advocates, youths, and the general public to deepen conversations around online safety and responsible digital citizenship. The event will be attended Live on YouTube. Attendees can register via: https://tr.ee/-vxT29hzfW and https://bit.ly/CiCC26M

Organisers announced that active participants during the event will receive over 1 Terabyte of Internet Data to support their continued digital learning.
The event will be hosted by the State Coordinator of the LSSTF-CACCOV initiative, Dr. Moses Oladimeji. Speaking on the event, Dr. Oladimeji revealed that ‘In today’s interconnected world, security no longer begins and ends within a physical location. It extends into the cyberspace, where billions of digital interactions occur every day. The ability to navigate the online space safely is, thus, an essential life skill that provides a hedge.’

The event will feature Oluwabamise Soile, Lead, Security Governance and Risk at Payaza as, alongside Meshole Emmanuel, Head of Programmes and Outreaches, LSSTF-CACCOV, as Keynote Speakers. Participants are expected to benefit from expert presentations on emerging cyber threats, practical demonstrations of online safety practices, interactive question-and-answer sessions, networking opportunities, and access to cybersecurity resources, guides and digital tools.

The LSSTF-CACCOV initiative is being championed by the esteemed leadership of the Executive Secretary/CEO of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund, Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, who serves as its Grand Patron. The campaign enjoys the support of strategic partners including the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Executive Hotel & Suites, Aethelgard Global Limited, AccompliTech and Tormer, reflecting a growing collaboration between the public and private sectors in promoting cyber resilience.
The cybersecurity programme represents another milestone in LSSTF-CACCOV’s expanding preventive security strategy, which has consistently focused on addressing the root causes of crime through education, advocacy and youth engagement. From anti-cultism campaigns in tertiary institutions to community sensitization against drug abuse and crime, the initiative continues to broaden its scope in response to emerging security realities. The LSSTF-CACCOV Cybersecurity Campaign aims to raise an informed, vigilant and digitally responsible citizenry.
