“I will remove you as DPO If I hear any incident of One Chance, Traffic Robbery Again…” – FCT Commissioner, Sanusi Warn Metro DPOs

The Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi has given a matching order to the seventeen (17) Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) under Metro Area Command to end all criminal and robbery activities within two (2) weeks in the city centre or be replaced.
In a press statement e-signed and released to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP by the Command’s Spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh stated that, “On Friday, 19th June 2026, the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, PhD., FCAI, held a meeting with the seventeen (17) Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) under Metro Area Command to review the prevailing security situation and strengthen operational strategies aimed at addressing emerging security threats within the Area Command.”
According to the statement, “Having observed the peculiar security challenges across the various Area Commands and their attendant security concerns, the Commissioner of Police expressed concern over
1. Traffic robbery
2. Incidents of vehicle snatching at gunpoint,
3. One chance “robbery” menace
4. Motorists driving “one way”
5. Activities of commercial motorcyclists operating on major roads.
6. Vandalization of public and private property.
7. Motorists parking on highways.
8. Traffic congestions
He therefore ordered the DPOs to end these crimes within two weeks or face the consequences.”
“He also directed all DPOs and Area Commander Metro to focus on the city centre as he will personally be handling security challenges in the suburb.”
Meanwhile, “The CP stressed that he will not condone negligence, directing the Area Commander Metro who is the supervising officer to provide effective leadership and ensure strict compliance with the directives.”
