All is set for the sixth edition of the annual National Discourse and Awards organized by Trek Africa Newspaper. Set at a critical period when Nigeria is in dire straits, going by the ugly trend of ethnic bias, religious intolerance, kidnapping, insurgency and ritual killing witnessed across the length and breadth of the country, the conference is fittingly themed ‘ENTRENCHING UNITY IN DIVERSITY, PANACEA FOR SECURITY AND PROSPERITY IN NIGERIA’.

Nigeria is a multi-ethnic, multi-lingual, and multi-religious society but she is currently battling for her soul as the forces of attrition are rallying against the forces of cohesion. Rather than concentrate on developmental issues, the government under President Muhammadu Buhari, however is preoccupied with insecurity of its citizens in and out of the country, this has taken its toll on the federation.

According to Oki Samson, the Project coordinator, eminent Nigerians who are billed to speak at the national discourse includes; Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, The Executive Director of Nigeria Export Promotion Council (NEPC), Segun Awolowo, and defence expert, Chief Abimbola Moyosore Aboderin.

The grand event which holds at the prestigious Golden Gate, Ikoyi, Lagos Nigeria on Sunday 22nd September, 2019 by 4.00pm, attracts a robust crème de la crème across various sectors of the continent.
